If you have trouble remembering to take your medicine, ask you pharmacist for some hints. Oxybutynin is used to control urgent, frequent, or uncontrolled urination in people who have overactive bladder (a condition in which the bladder muscles have uncontrollable spasms), spina bifida (a disability that occurs when the spinal cord does not close properly before birth), or other conditions that affect the bladder muscles. Oxybutynin is in a class of medications called anticholinergics. It works by relaxing the bladder muscles to prevent urgent, frequent, or uncontrolled urination. Oxybutynin comes as a tablet, a syrup, and an extended-release (long-acting) tablet to take by mouth. The tablets and syrup are usually taken two to four times a day. The extended-release tablet is usually taken once a day with or without food. Take oxybutynin at around the same time(s) every day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take oxybutynin exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.Swallow the extended-release tablets whole with plenty of water or other liquid. Do not split, chew, or crush the extended-release tablets. Tell your doctor if you cannot swallow tablets.Your doctor may start you on a low dose of oxybutynin and gradually increase your dose, not more than once every week.Oxybutynin may control your symptoms, but will not cure your condition. Continue to take oxybutynin even if you feel well. Do not stop taking oxybutynin without talking to your doctor.

This type of medicine acts on the heart and blood vessels. Diltiazem works by slowing down the movement of calcium through muscle cells that are found in the heart and the walls of blood vessels. It does this by blocking 'calcium channels' on these muscle cells. Calcium is needed by the muscle cells in order for them to contract. By depriving them of calcium, diltiazem causes the muscle cells to relax. This action of diltiazem has two main effects; it slows down the rate at which the heart beats and it allows the blood vessels in the body to widen. When the heart beats more slowly, the pressure at which the blood is pumped out of the heart is reduced. When the blood vessels in the body relax and widen, this decreases the resistance that the heart has to push against in order to pump the blood around the body. Both these actions reduce the pressure within the blood vessels. This means diltiazem can be used to lower high blood pressure. Slowing the heart rate also reduces the energy used by the heart to pump blood around the body. This in turn reduces the heart's need for oxygen. At the same time, widening the blood vessels improves the blood and therefore oxygen supply to the heart. Both these features mean that diltiazem can be used in the management of angina. The chest pain of angina is caused by insufficient oxygen supply to the heart. As diltiazem improves this oxygen supply, and also reduces the effort the heart has to make to pump blood, it can be used to prevent angina attacks. Diltiazem capsules are a long-acting or 'modified-release' form of diltiazem. This means that they are designed to release the diltiazem slowly and continuously over several hours to produce a steady blood level of the medicine throughout the day. Diltiazem capsules are designed to be taken once a day, at the same time each day. They should be swallowed whole and not chewed or crushed, as this would damage the modified-release action. What is it used for? Angina pectoris.Mild to moderate high blood pressure (hypertension). Adapalene is used to treat acne. Adapalene is in a class of medications called retinoid-like compounds. It works by stopping pimples from forming under the surface of the skin.Adapalene comes as a gel, a solution (liquid), and a cream to apply to the skin. The solution comes in a glass bottle with an applicator and as individual pledgets (medicated wipes for one time use). It is usually applied once a day at bedtime. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Apply adapalene exactly as directed. Do not apply more or less of it or apply it more often than prescribed by your doctor. Applying more adapalene or applying adaplene more often than recommended will not speed up or improve results, but it may irritate your skin.Adapalene controls acne but does not cure it. Your acne may get worse during the first few weeks of treatment, and it may take 8-12 weeks or longer before you feel the full benefit of adapalene. Pimples can take 6-8 weeks to form under the skin, and during the first weeks of your treatment, adapalene may bring these pimples to the skin surface. Continue to use adapalene even if your acne worsens or you do not see much improvement at first. Do not stop using adapalene without talking to your doctor.Do not apply adapalene to skin that is sunburned, broken, or covered with eczema (a skin disease). If you have any of these conditions, do not apply adapalene until your skin has healed.Be careful not to get adapalene in your eyes, nose, or mouth. If you do get adapalene in your eyes, wash them with plenty of water and call your doctor. Your eyes may become irritated, swollen, or infected. To use the cream, gel, or solution, follow these steps: Gently wash the affected skin with a mild soap or soapless cleanser and pat dry with a soft towel. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleansers, and do not scrub your skin vigorously. Ask your doctor or pharmacist to recommend a gentle cleanser. If you are using the gel or cream, use your fingers to spread a thin film of medication over the affected area. If you are using a pledget, remove it from the foil pouch and gently wipe the entire affected area. If you are using the glass bottle of solution, apply a thin layer to the affected area using the applicator provided. You may feel a slight warmth or stinging in the place where you applied adapalene. This feeling is normal and should go away by itself in a short time. If you used a pledget, throw it away after use. Do not save it to use again. Finpecia treating certain types of male pattern hair loss (androgenic alopecia) in men.Finpecia is a steroid reductase inhibitor. It works by reducing the amount of the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body. This may block certain types of hair loss in men. Finpecia is used for: Treating male pattern baldness on top of the head and the anterior mid-scalp area IN MEN ONLY.Finpecia is a remedy for baldness in men with mild to moderate hair loss on the top of the head and the front of the mid-scalp area. It increases hair growth, improves hair regrowth, and slows down hair loss. It works only on scalp hair and does not affect hair on other parts of the body. Amoxicillin is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria, such as pneumonia; bronchitis; gonorrhea; and infections of the ears, nose, throat, urinary tract, and skin. It is also used in combination with other medications to eliminate H. pylori, a bacteria that causes ulcers. Amoxicillin is in a class of medications called penicillin-like antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. Antibiotics will not work for colds, flu, and other viral infections.Amoxicillin comes as a capsule, a tablet, a chewable tablet, a suspension (liquid), and pediatric drops to take by mouth. It is usually taken every 12 hours (twice a day) or every 8 hours (three times a day) with or without food. To help you remember to take amoxicillin, take it around the same time every day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take amoxicillin exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.Shake the liquid and pediatric drops well before each use to mix the medication evenly. Use the bottle dropper to measure the dose of pediatric drops. The pediatric drops and liquid may be placed on a child's tongue or added to formula, milk, fruit juice, water, ginger ale, or other cold liquid and taken immediately. The chewable tablets should be crushed or chewed thoroughly before they are swallowed. The tablets and capsules should be swallowed whole and taken with a full glass of water.Take amoxicillin until you finish the prescription, even if you feel better. Stopping amoxicillin too soon may cause bacteria to become resistant to antibiotics.Amoxicillin also is used sometimes to prevent anthrax infection after exposure and to treat anthrax infection of the skin and chlamydia infections during pregnancy. Talk with your doctor about the possible risks of using this medication for your condition. Benign enlargement of the prostate is a problem that can occur in men as they get older. The prostate gland is located below the bladder. As the prostate gland enlarges, certain muscles in the gland may become tight and get in the way of the tube that drains urine from the bladder. This can cause problems in urinating, such as a need to urinate often, a weak stream when urinating, or a feeling of not being able to empty the bladder completely.Tamsulosin helps relax the muscles in the prostate and the opening of the bladder. This may help increase the flow of urine and/or decrease the symptoms. However, tamsulosin will not shrink the prostate. The prostate may continue to get larger. This may cause the symptoms to become worse over time. Therefore, even though tamsulosin may lessen the problems caused by enlarged prostate now, surgery still may be needed in the future.Flomax is used to treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate--a condition technically known as benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH. The walnut-sized prostate gland surrounds the urethra (the duct that drains the bladder). If the gland becomes enlarged, it can squeeze the urethra, interfering with the flow of urine. This can cause difficulty in starting urination, a weak flow of urine, and the need to urinate urgently or more frequently. Flomax doesn't shrink the prostate. Instead, it relaxes the muscle around it, freeing the flow of urine and decreasing urinary symptoms.Tamsulosin is in a group of drugs called alpha-adrenergic (AL-fa ad-ren-ER-jik) blockers. Tamsulosin relaxes your veins and arteries so that blood can more easily pass through them. It also relaxes the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier to urinate.Tamsulosin is used to improve urination in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate). Indications:#All grades of essential hypertension. #Renovascular hypertension. #All degrees of heart failure. #In patients with symptomatic heart failure, m-Enalapril is also indicated to improve survival, retard the progression of heart failure and reduce hospitalisation for heart failure. #The prevention of symptomatic heart failure. #In asymptomatic patients with left ventricular dysfunction m-#Enalapril is indicated to retard development of symptomatic heart failure and reduce hospitalisation for heart failure. #Prevention of coronary ischemic events in patients with left ventricular dysfunction. #Reduce the incidence of myocardial infarction. #Reduce hospitalisation for unstable angina pectoris. Essential hypertension:The initial dose is 5mg once daily. The usual maintenance dose is 20mg once daily. The dosage should be adjusted according to the needs of the patient to a maximum of 40mg daily.Renovascular hypertension:Because blood pressure and renal function in such patients may be particularly sensitive to ACE inhibition, therapy should be initiated with a lower starting dose of 2.5mg to 5mg. The dosage should then be adjusted according to the patient's needs. Most patients may be expected to respond to one 20mg tablet taken once daily. For patients with hypertension who have been treated recently with diuretics, caution is recommended (see next paragraph).Concomitant diuretic therapy in hypertension:Symptomatic hypotension may occur following the initial dose of enalapril. This is more likely in patients who are being treated currently with diuretics. Caution is recommended as these patients may be volume or salt depleted. The diuretic therapy should be discontinued for 2-3 days prior to initiation of therapy with enalapril. If this is not possible, the initial dose of enalapril should be low (2.5mg) to determine the initial effect on the blood pressure. Dosage should then be adjusted according to the patient's needs.Heart failure/asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction:The initial dose of enalapril in patients with symptomatic heart failure or asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction is 2.5mg, and it should be administered under close medical supervision to determine the initial effect on the blood pressure. Enalapril may be used in the management of symptomatic heart failure usually with diuretics and, where appropriate, digitalis. In the absence of, or after effective management of, symptomatic hypotension following initiation of therapy with enalapril in heart failure, the dose should be increased gradually to the usual maintenance dose of 20mg, given in a single dose or two divided doses, as tolerated by the patient. This dose titration may be performed over a 2 to 4 week period, or more rapidly if indicated by the presence of residual signs and symptoms of heart failure. In patients with symptomatic heart failure this dosage regimen was effective in reducing mortality.Blood pressure and renal function should be monitored closely both before and after starting treatment with enalapril (see Warnings and Precautions) because hypotension and (more rarely) consequent renal failure have been reported. In patients treated with diuretics the dose should be reduced if possible, if possible, before beginning treatment with enalapril. The appearance of hypotension after the initial dose of enalapril does not imply that hypotension will recur during chronic therapy with enalapril and does not preclude continued use of the medicine. Serum potassium should also be monitored Metaproterenol is used to treat wheezing and shortness of breath from lung problems (e.g., asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchitis, emphysema). Controlling these symptoms can decrease time lost from work or school. Metaproterenol is a bronchodilator (beta-2 receptor agonist) that works by opening breathing passages to make breathing easier. This drug is also known as orciprenaline in other countries. How to use Alupent OralTake this medication by mouth with or without food, usually 3-4 times daily or as directed by your doctor. Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. If taking the syrup, measure the dose carefully using a medication cup/spoon available from your pharmacist.Take this medication exactly as prescribed. Do not take more of this medication or take it more often than recommended by your doctor. If you have been directed to use this medication on a daily schedule, use it regularly at the same times each day in order to get the most benefit from it.If you take other asthma drugs by mouth or inhaling devices, ask your doctor about how to correctly take this medication with your other asthma medicines. If you notice less effect than usual from this medication, if your symptoms get worse, or if you feel you need to take any of your asthma medications more often than recommended, seek immediate medical attention. |
